ICAI Revaluation Process: Fees and Expected Result Time

Your CA result is out, and one number looks wrong. You want a second look. Here is the first thing to know about the ICAI Revaluation Process: ICAI does not re-mark your answers. It offers marks verification and certified copies of your answer book instead. This guide shows what each option checks, how to apply, what you pay, how long ICAI says it takes, and what can happen to your marks. We also cover deadlines, status tracking and common slip-ups. Start with what ICAI actually checks.

ICAI Answer Sheet Verification: What Gets Checked

Verification is an audit of the arithmetic and paperwork behind your marks. Under Regulation 39(4) of the CA Regulations, 1988, ICAI looks at these points:

  • Your answer book set is complete
  • Every question and part of a question has been marked
  • Totals add up, both per question and on the cover page
  • Question-wise marks match the cover page
  • The handwriting is the same across all your books

Nobody re-reads your answers.

Plenty of websites and students call verification “revaluation”. ICAI does not. The ICAI rechecking process that students ask about comes down to two options: verification and certified copies.

Why Students Apply

  • You missed a pass by a few marks.
  • One paper landed just under the 60% mark that earns exemption.
  • Your total looks lower than the answers you remember writing.
  • You want facts before you plan the next attempt.

ICAI Revaluation Process: Step-by-Step Guide

ICAI takes applications online only. Physical forms are not entertained.

  1. Log in to your SSP dashboard at eservices.icai.org.
  2. Open “Verification, Certified Copies and Inspection of Answer Books”.
  3. Pick your application type: verification, inspection or certified copies.
  4. Read the guidelines and tick the confirmation box.
  5. Select your papers with care. ICAI accepts one application per registration number.
  6. Add your bank details for any refund.
  7. Review everything, tick “I agree” and submit.
  8. Pay online and save the confirmation page with your Control Number.

That is how to apply for ICAI revaluation in practice. Menu names can change, so follow the live portal.

Verification or Certified Copies?

ICAI certified copies of answer sheets show you the evaluated book itself. Before sending them, ICAI runs its own verification, so you do not need a separate verification application. If you spot a totaling error or an unmarked part in your copies, report it to ICAI within one month. For MCQ papers, you receive copies of the OMR sheet.

Choose ICAI exam paper verification when you only want the arithmetic checked. Choose copies when you want to read your own answers.

Eligibility and Last Date

Any Foundation, Intermediate or Final candidate who appeared in the exam can apply through their SSP login. ICAI’s FAQ gives one month for verification and 30 days for certified copies, and late fees are not accepted for copies. The ICAI revaluation application last date changes with every result, so read the notice posted alongside yours.

ICAI Revaluation Result Date: What to Expect

ICAI says verification takes about four weeks and admits it cannot promise a date. Some websites quote longer ranges, and those are guesses. While you wait, you can still submit your next exam form. ICAI will not extend that form’s deadline. If nothing arrives 15 days before your next exam begins, email the exam helpline.

How to Check Your Application Status

ICAI emails the outcome to the address on your exam form. For an ICAI revaluation status check, open the “Payment” icon on the portal and keep your Control Number handy. No “Successful” screen means ICAI never received your application, and failed payments are credited back.

Helpline emails: foundation_examhelpline@icai.in, intermediate_examhelpline@icai.in, final_examhelpline@icai.in.

Possible Outcomes

  • No change in marks
  • Higher marks that change your result or exemption
  • Higher marks with no effect on the result
  • Lower marks

The ICAI marks verification process can reduce marks as well as raise them. Where marks change, ICAI sends a revised statement of marks. Candidates who pass or earn an exemption get a hard copy, and others get an email.

Precautions Before You Submit

ICAI verification of marks for CA exams works best when you have a specific doubt. Before you pay, run through this list:

  • Pick your papers once, because you cannot file a second application online.
  • Confirm your email ID, since the result goes there.
  • Do not pay twice. ICAI refunds duplicates, but only after a delay.
  • Screenshot the success page.
